There is a first for everything.

Joaquin's first week home.

First wink at his mommy ;)

First time he peed through his outfit.
Tired dad.
First time in his crib. So tiny
He loves sleeping with his arms like that.

Trip to his first doctors appointment.
After his first bath at home.
Naked baby
The first week with Joaquin was such a joy. Luckily, Mando had four weeks off from work to help me at home. He is such a great daddy, and so hands on with everything. I'm so thankful. At first, we were a little worried, and thought something was wrong with Joaquin because he NEVER cried. Nothing was wrong, he was just a good baby! However, he did struggle with latching onto me. I had to use a nipple shield and a syringe with formula to feed him. We tried that for about three weeks, but Mando and I were so exhausted, because that technique got us nowhere. I switched to only pumping into bottles. That worked like a charm. Joaquin was happier, and we were both able to get some sleep. We had no idea that breast feeding would be so difficult. If you notice in some of those pictures, Joaquin looked a little jaundice. It was only a mild case where he didnt need any treatment. It went away after two weeks, which was great! We are absolutely obsessed with our little man. Its crazy how you can be so in love with someone you just met. There are going to be a lot more "firsts" to come, and we cant wait!
